When I was 7 or 8, two kids in my class literally stoned a kid to near death during recess and left him in a flood irrigation ditch when the bell rang. The boy was found shortly after by a staff member who immediately called 911. His mom burst into the classroom in tears berating the teacher because she had identified the boys as being violent towards her son.

I never saw his, his mom, the two boys, or the teacher again.
