The basics of taking care of themselves. I work as a nanny and have been for close to a decade, and it's amazing how many kids just don't get how to do the most basic shit because the people around them just assume they're 'too young' to help in the kitchen, or cleaning, or whatever, and it follows them until they're in their late teens and are thrown into the deep end. All my kids help me with dinner, or laundry, or the basic house work that is a part of my job. not all of them like every aspect of it, but a lot of them will find something to like. One of my girls LOVES helping with dinner because she gets to eat the end results, even if it's just planning out our weekly meals. Another doesn't like it, but loves helping with laundry and vacuum. Stuff like that really helps them as they grow up.
